Nameak collects what it needs to run accounts, credits and domain lookups, and nothing for advertising. There are no ads and no tracking cookies; visits are counted with cookieless, aggregate analytics.
What we store
- Account details: your user id, email address, display name, sign-in method and account creation date. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; Nameak never sees or stores your password.
- Credits and purchases: your plan, credit balances, a ledger of every credit change (for example a search, a registered domain check, a daily reset or a grant) and your purchase requests, including the email address on them.
- Saved searches: when you are signed in, the keywords or description of each search, the number of names and the time, so you can see them under Account & history. The generated names themselves are not stored on our servers.
- Domain lookups: when you are signed in, the domain names you check and their results, so that a repeated request is never charged twice. These records are set to expire after 30 days.
- Free preview without an account: a random guest id in a cookie and counters of how many searches and domain checks it has used. To limit abuse we also keep a daily counter per IP address, stored only as a keyed one-way hash, never as the address itself. Guest records are set to expire after 30 days.
What stays in your browser
Your words, settings, generated names, favorites, lookup results and trademark notes are kept in this browser tab’s session storage, so they survive a refresh or signing in. They are cleared when the tab session ends, or when you choose Clear Session. Exports are created in your browser.
Cookies and similar storage
nameak_guest: an HTTP-only cookie holding the random guest id used to enforce free preview limits. It lasts 30 days.- Firebase Authentication keeps you signed in using your browser’s storage.
- Session storage for your workspace, as described above.
None of these are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Who else receives data
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores account, credit and history data on our behalf.
- Vercel hosts the website and API and processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver the service.
- Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It records the page, referrer, browser, operating system, device type and country, and recognises a visit only through an anonymous hash that changes every day, so it cannot follow you across days or other sites.
- Domain registries receive the domain names you check. Lookups are sent from our servers, so registries see the domain name but not who asked. Nothing else you type is sent to them.
- The USPTO and WIPO receive whatever you enter on their own sites when you open their search tools from Nameak.
We do not sell your data.
Payments
Nameak does not process card payments online yet. Purchase requests are approved manually after payment is arranged with you, and Nameak never stores card numbers.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete your account at any time from Account & history. This removes your profile, saved searches and lookup history and deletes your sign-in. Credit ledger entries and purchase records are kept because they are financial records.
